Your experience

The unique combination of architecture and music creates a brilliant experience that reverberates in the hearts of the audience. The most magnificent synagogue in Europe is thought to be the Spanish Synagogue in Prague. The Old Shul, the oldest Jewish place of worship in Prague, was demolished to make way for this Moorish-style structure in 1868. The Spanish Synagogue, located in the center of the Jewish Quarter, has just undergone a stunning restoration. A low plaster arabesque of stylized Islamic themes can be seen in the interior decoration. These motifs are also used to decorate the walls, doors, and gallery balustrades.

The Spanish Synagogue transforms into a stunning location for classical music performances in the evening. There are four different programs for the performance, each featuring the greatest of Gershwin, the finest of Czech and global music, Jewish traditional melodies, Bolero, and Hallelujah. Along with outstanding 19th-century Czech composers like Dvoák and Smetana, it has solo and ensemble works by illustrious composers like Verdi, Rossini, Mozart, and Bach. including well-known compositions by Bernstein, Weber, Gershwin, etc. The majority of the members of the Czech Collegium are prominent musicians from the Prague FOK Symphony Orchestra.
